Through my position as a trainer, I have found that I learn from my customers just as much as they learn from me. In fact, what a lot of people may not realize about teaching is that for every hour you spend teaching someone, you spend about the same amount of time learning and preparing. By way of this blog, I would like to share what I have learned in the field and pass along information that will be useful for our customers in Community Dev...

Like anything stored on a computer, it is important to protect your data. Your Building Department database should be backed up frequently to protect the information you have entered (we recommend at least once a day). Most units have a network backup system to facilitate this (ask your IT department to see if you can utilize this system). Having backups of your BD database is an important measure to take in order to avoid issues with the i...

Today I pose the question: What is the benefit of entering data into a database if we can’t get it out? If we spend all of our time entering data but fail to include important pieces of information about a record, it can be very difficult to filter properly later. Many times, I am asked to help produce a report to display data broken down or filtered into various ways. One of the most common queries is the number of Commercial or Residential ...

Why use BS&A Software?

We are a privately held company. What that means to you is that we can focus on customer happiness and success instead of creating wealth for our shareholders. At BS&A, you always come first.

See more reasons

I like the ease that you can move between seasons in the tax software and the ease that you can print reports, conduct searches by property address, etc. A huge feature is the database compare report. This report runs in a matter of seconds. You can then print a report showing the differences with the parcel numbers that is affected. I like the way the comment button flashes as a reminder.
