02/12/2010 - Important Alert: Backing up your Equalizer .Net Applications
Check your Backups! Your current backup software may not be doing the job. BS&A Software's new .Net software utilizes Microsoft SQL Server. While this change brings many improvements over the older versions of the software; one thing that has changed is that you will need an "SQL Plug-in" to properly backup your data.
Backup Software that was perfectly capable of backing up "Pervasive Data" may not be able to do the job. BS&A Software recommends that all of its customers review their backups to verify the BS&A .Net data is being properly backed up.
Many different vendors have SQL Agents/plug-ins. You will need to contact your technician to verify which plug-in you will need to buy. BS&A has experience with and can recommend the following sql backup software:
Symantec-Backup Exec: http://www.cdwg.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1979762

01/26/2009 – Attn: Oakland County Building Department System Users
Note to Oakland County Units:
The Oakland County file import for property and owner information is no longer required and has been removed from the import pick list options. Though your local assessor remotely logs into the BS&A Equalization System via Citrix, they can generate our standard export file(s) (zipped or unzipped) and output them directly to a local drive. From there they can copy the file(s) to a shared area on your local network for importing by the Building Dept. software. Your assessor will have to set a block on your unit from the Equalization System’s parcel list and export it. Otherwise , the export will contain the entire county record set. If your assessor does not have security access to generate exports, have him/her contact the Oakland County Service Center @ 248-858-8812.
